Howto revive a bricked Linksys WAP54G v2
These are the steps that I followed to revive my Linksys WAP54G v2 from the death.
It may happen when you try to upgrade or change its firmware and something goes wrong. Electric power going on and off several times in a short period may also lead to this situation.
Then your access point (AP) is dead. It's useful only like a brick.
What can we do?
There is a possible solution. Let's try it.

Sorgoquest Quiz: http://www.sorgonet.com/sorgoquest/01/002.html You ask for level 2. If you think that the response is for example: potato, then you must type in the URL bar: http://www.sorgonet.com/sorgoquest/01/potato.html Good Luck.

Re:Howto revive a bricked Linksys WAP54G v2
Hi, i am just confused about pin numbers.. as i know the point on the right upside of the picture should be pointing pin-1 so you should be shortcircuiting 9 and 10 pins. is it true? because..i have a brick v2 too.only lights i can see on them ethernet and power.i tried shorting 15 and 16 and 9 and 10 as you did..but no ping or no tftp response.. is it the default ip add. of router 1.254 or is is the last config we did. because i was using 1.1 as ip add of this brick..any ideas are welcome

Re:Howto revive a bricked Linksys WAP54G v2
Hello. I struggled with mine after having attempted to upgrade the firmware with the web interface. it stopped at 100% and the page froze. when i rebooted router it was pingable but not possible to log into with web form. This article helped me a LOT...but to those worried about warranty. DO NOT OPEN THE ROUTER UNTIL YOU HAVE TRIED TO PING IT!!!! I did not need to shortcirquit the router!! Try to do the reset by holding reset button for 60 seconds then turn router off for 30 seconds. If you are lucky it should revert the IP back to factory default. Try to ping 192.168.1.245.... If it answers. try to do the tftp directly! tftp -i 192.168.1.245 PUT c:LinksysWAP54G-Cisco-EU-EN-3.08.06.trx is what i used, without opening the router physically...AND IT WORKED! Reason being... If your web interface firmware upgrade fails, it get stuck in "waiting for firmware" mode...if you can ping it, it means you wont need to shortcircuit the pins! So try this first. Ping router. No answer, reset button pressed 60 seconds power off 30 seconds turn on Ping router If it responds to ping from 192.168.1.245, open CMD and do tftp -i 192.168.1.245 PUT c:LinksysWAP54G-Cisco-EU-EN-3.08.06.trx where the file at the end should be the new firmware. make sure you have connected your router with a cable to the PC. Oh..and to make this work, you need to set your pc with ip 192.168.1.200 or another last octet and use subnet 255.255.255.0. This because router and pc need to be on same subnet and in same ip-range. toffypops @ hotmail
